Perspectives frown within the skull

For a perspective project using variation of texture, line, style and color I have chosen a human skull as my object. Here is one of the drawings.. Using sienna pencil and some pen I came up with this.. The second photo has been digitally altered to allow for a higher degree of contrast between the shades and colors.

Celestial promises

I did a small mock up for this a while back, Creating a flow of movement and playing with the directional values of the image. You feel floaty on the washed out waves but as your eyes hit the closest figure you are drawn forward figure to figure, until the surf pulls at your vision again making another trip from corner to corner. I used washes of black and blue India ink on this, and some watered down acrylic for the hair, the size is 18"x24"

Rust In The New Age

its been quite a while since ive made a post on here, but in the period of time passed i have grown and have lots to share with the world.. I'm hoping this blog brings together many minds creative or not..

                                                                       Rust

the world deserves rust, it lets us see true beauty; the beauty of the mind, heart brain and most of all creativity.. this is an ode to the old word and the new, to the functioning and the not. men take from the earth and eventually the earth takes back what was once it's own, and with it comes beauty in the rust...

New Joker art inspired by Lee Bermejo

Last December i did a picture that comic artist Lee Bermejo created. I did it in black and white, and in a bit of my own style. Now i have done a new one of it, and with this one added much more of my own style into it; below is a close up of the Joker's face as well as his victim's. It is about 13 inches tall by 13 wide.

New Beginning- The Joker

Inspired by comic and graphic novel illustrator Lee Bermejo, here is the drawing of the Joker i did as a practice for myself; this first photo is about 3 quarters of the way done.

A close up of the Jokers evil grin and his victims forced smile.

Me adding some of the finishing touches to the sketch.

The finished project. I did the whole sketch in graphite first and then began to go over it in ink using micron pens; the graphite allows me to add a large range of light to dark shadows and the pens were good to use for the darkest of the shadows. The whole sketch took about 10-12 hours in all to complete.
